I started running in 1996 with the simple goal of being the fastest runner in my middle school physical education class. Achieving that first goal quickly led to the creation another goal, which summarizes my running career pretty well. I have always been setting goals and striving to achieve them.
In high school I set the goal of running in college, Goshen College (www.goshen.edu) in Goshen, IN gave me that opportunity. While in college my goals quickly went from being the best runner on the team to being NAIA All-American. After thousands of miles and gallons of sweat I became a 4 time NAIA All-American, including a runner-up finish in the marathon during the 2004 National Championships.
After graduating from Goshen College, in 2005, I no longer had the benefit of running for an organized team. Setting goals and pushing the limits to achieve them kept me motivated to train hard. As my running career has evolved I have found it Vital to take every benefit possible to not only train hard but also recover fast.
Currently I have completed 80 marathons, winning 29 of them, while setting 5 marathon course records along the way. I run most of my marathons in the VT 0210, which are great at preventing blisters. Once I cross a race finish line or complete a hard workout I quickly put on my Recovery Socks. These Recovery Socks work great at speeding up my recovery between workouts and races. Due to the use of these socks I have been able to increase the frequency and intensity of my running career.

I have been playing volleyball at a high level for over 12 years. In my position we jump CONSTANTLY which leads to shin and knee problems. While I was in college our trainer asked us to try a compression sleeve for our shins made by under amour. I felt absolutely no difference. I wore the Recovery Vital Socks and the very first time I noticed that my first couple jumps were not painful, and what was even more remarkable is that my last couple jumps were painless as well! I will never play another volleyball game without my Vital Recovery (athletic) socks.
As a volleyball player we do not typically run long distance, and I am your typical volleyball player who never runs more a mile. When I start running my shins would always scream in detest! ALWAYS! I recently got roped into competing in an all day fitness competition with a bunch of guys training to become Navy Seals and I couldn't turn down a chance to be surrounded by motivated individuals so I stepped up to the challenge. The last even of the day was a Run/Walk for 90 minutes! My jaw about hit the floor when our instructor informed us of this! We were also running OUTSIDE on concrete! Again I am your typical volleyball player and I have never run more that a mile straight. I made it through the entire 90 minutes wearing my Recovery Socks and my I was painless from the knees down! I really couldn't believe it because walking in the mall makes my shins hurt while not wearing my Vital Socks. Former Olympian and World Record Holder in the 10,000 meters run
Arturo Barrios Flores (born December 12, 1962) is a Mexican long-distance runner. He was born in Ciudad de Mexico, Distrito Federal. Barrios finished in fifth place in the 10,000 metres at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He is a former world record holder at 10,000 m (27:08.23, set on August 18, 1989). Barrios' record was not broken until 1993 when Richard Chelimo ran 27:07.91 in Stockholm. On March 30, 1991, Barrios set world records at one hour (21,101 km) and 20,000 m (56:55.6).
These records stood until June 2007, when they were broken by Haile Gebrselassie. Barrios' 1991 performance makes him the first man ever to run a half-marathon distance in less than one hour; the first to do so in an actual half-marathon competition was Moses Tanui in 1993. In 1992 he participated in the 6th IAAF World Cup in Athletics, running the 5,000 m with a time of 13:50.95, finishing in second place. Barrios became a United States citizen in September 1994. Barrios graduated from Texas A&M University in 1985 where he competed in track and cross country.

Joe Gray, a Recovery Sock sponsored athlete, made his 7th and 8th USA National Teams this year and placed 2nd at the Mountain Running National Championship. He will be representing Team USA at the World Championships in Albania. Joe also made the North American and Central American Mountain Running Team for USA and will be going for his third victory at this championship! Joe was able to win his third Washington Road Running title this year as well as win the 15k National Trail Running Championships.
Ironman - Italian Champion (in his category)
I started triathlon in 1994 with a race on average distance (2500m swim, 80km bike and 20km run). My disposition toward endurance immediately took me to face a long-distance race to see if this could be my future passion ... and so it was! I used to play soccer and basketball, but I liked triathlon from the beginning and since 2000 I dedicate myself to the king race of the sport, the race that saw the birth of the triathlon back in 1978 in Hawaii, the IRONMAN! It is 3800m swim, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km. In 2000 I've done the Ironman in Roth and finished in 10h55 ' at the end of the race I said to myself that never again would I go through an effort like this... but for years to come, I repeated this experience for 16 times around Europe, Malaysia and for 4 times the world final that is held every year in Hawaii. Over the years, the constancy of training has led me to win the Italian title on the Olympic distance in 2008 and to be the Italian champion for the Ironman distance in 2008 and 2009. The triathlon was not enough and so in 2004 I participated in the tough race 100 km of Passatore, walking race from Florence to Faenza ending in 8:34'. In 2006 I attended the Ultramarathon of Boavista, 150km race in the desert with self-sufficiency in food , finishing 6th overall in 24h45'. In 2006 in Spain I won an unusual Ironman distance with the bike fraction with the mountain bike. The town of Brescia rewarded me for this accomplishment with the Winged Victory, while in 2008 for the Italian titles and for the world races I have received the prestigious Silver Grosso from the Brescia's Mayor.

My name is Jake Winder and I am a 3 times NCAA Div 3 Pole Vault Champion ranked in the top 10 Nationally and Top 20 in the World with a personal best vault of 18'1" (5.50m). I wear The Recovery Sock® and they are unbelievable! I had never used a sock like this before but Kris Hartner at Naperville Running Company said it would help me to get some blood flowing in my lower legs on the plane ride over seas and they did just that. It was amazing how great my legs felt after a 13 hour plane ride and being so tired from the jet lag!! I also wanted to let you know that after I used the socks on the plane I wanted to see how they felt working out. So I used them in a work out and I found that it took half the time to warm up and get the blood flowing and I had a great work out. Since I liked them so much in the work out I used them in the meet, and once again my warm up was not as long but my legs felt like they would after a half hour warm up.
But the thing that I liked the most about the product was the amount of energy given back to me after my leg struck the ground. I bought some Recovery Socks at the PF Changs Expo in Phx. That I ran in on Jan 16 of this year. The most amazing thing is I had major leg surgery on Jan 5th, just 11 days before the Race. Thanks to the Recovery Socks my feet never hurt and my leg was fine.
On Oct 22nd of this year, 3 days after my 66th birthday, I went from North Rim to South Rim of the Grand Canyon, with a couple of side trails, in 1 day. My Son-In-Law was my hiking partner and my walk meter showed 31.47 mi. We did it in 13 1/2 hrs with side trips and a stop at Phantom Ranch.
I had purchased a 2nd pair of your socks for the trip and I am proud to tell you that I was one of the very few from the whole group that had no Blisters on my feet.

Hello, My name is Mark Wladecki, M.D. In September 2004 I raced in my last Duathlon, the epic Powerman World Championships in Zofingen Switzerland. The greatest race of all time! A 10 k run - 150 k bike - and 30 k run. The past five years have been dedicated to my daughter, and her soccer(futbol) training. She will be going off to University in the fall, and I am looking for new adventures.
I know how much long, hard training results in nagging aches and pains. I was lucky enough to find a product called the recovery sock. I have used compression shorts before, but not socks. Approximately 3 weeks ago , I did a 'brick' workout which lasted almost 4 hours. Afterwards I put on the socks and the next day I was not sore!!! No sore achilles, soleus, nothing!!!! Well...One time does not a product make!
On Saturday Feb. 21 I woke and decided to see what I could do. 15 degrees Fahrenheit and snow. So I ran 1 hour 15 minutes, rode the bike trainer 1 1/2 hours, then put on The Recovery Sock®s and finished with another 45 minutes of running and another 1 1/2 hour bike. - 5 total hours. I put the recovery socks back on after a shower, along with the base layer compression shorts. Later that day I went out and danced with my wife and the next morning - I was not sore!!!!! I will continue to use this product! At almost 51 years age - maybe the 'comeback' to racing won't be so hard!!! I thank you for this product!
